Clinical Commissioning GroupsYour future local NHS health services – Moving towards Clinical Commissioning Groups The recently published Health and Social Care Bill sets out a number of changes to healthcare provision that will see local GPs take more control of budgets and make decisions about what services to provide to their local community. Local public health teams will continue to have a key role in providing public health expertise for the NHS commissioners of healthcare services including the developing Clinical Commissioning Groups. For more information click here. The changes will also see certain public health functions transfer into local authorities and the setting up of new Health and Well-being Boards. Across North Yorkshire and York we currently have four emerging Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). To see how the emerging CCGs are spread across North Yorkshire and York click here. GP Practices in the Craven district have joined with the Airedale and Wharfedale Alliance and formed the Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven Group (currently being overseen by NHS Bradford and Airedale) with the exception of Bentham which is hoping to be part of the South Lakes Clinical Commissioning Group. These arrangements are all subject to further ongoing consultation and final authorisation by the Department of Health. Latest Developments
Further information about our Clinical Commissioning Groups will be released over the next few months and this page will be updated to reflect the changes.
